Looking for Robert Wright
This is a re-post of a blog entry from 2004.
I have been looking for this man since 1976. I did take a few years off to write a few books and do professional research. But now I'm ready to find him.
Robert Wright was born in mid to late 1700's. According to family tradition he married in VA and he and his bride led a group of people out of VA to the Cumberland Mtns. and then settled in NC. Family tradition also says he had three sons, William (born about 1804 in NC), Alfred Leander (my gggf) born 7 Mar 1814 somewhere in NC, and "Bob" (have never found him).
William Wright
1. md about 1835 - place unknown - wife, Rebecca, born NC
2. resided 1850 McMinn Co TN
3. moved to Overton Co TN sometime between 1850-1860
4. remained Overton Co until death after 1880
Alfred Leander Wright
1. md 31 Dec 1835 - Jane Howard, in Blount Co TN
2. resided Meade Co, KY 1840
3. moved to Overton Co TN ca 1844
4. remained in Overton until death 15 Sep 1892
I have a whole list of Robert Wright's that fall in the right time period but haven't determined which one is the right one. At another time I will post my list of possible Robert Wright's.
